What are Credit points?
Credit points stand for the workload one unit of studies requires. One Credit Point (CP) contains 25 to 30 hours of work. The amount of CPs which are given per module, depends on the number of presentations, amount of learning matter and/or texts to read. Some credit points are available only during attendance, sometimes a term paper has to be written or a test has to be taken. On average, 30 credit points should be completed per semester, for a bachelor’s degree within six semesters – summing up to 180 CPs. This includes 900 study hours per semester and 5,400 hours until graduation.
