Is a doctorate degree reachable at a university of applied sciences?

A doctorate degree is only obtainable at a university. A university is a public research and teaching institution that offers bachelor, master and doctorate degrees.

At universities, their teaching focuses more on theory. Universities of Applied Sciences focus on the practical side of education. Only bachelor and master degrees are awarded at universities, however not doctorate degrees, since research is not the main focus, but practical studies.
